In the Netherlands, Tesla sold twice the amount of cars compared to Audi, BMW and Mercedes combined in December 2019!
- 30% of the cars sold in December were from Tesla, followed by Audi (7.5%) –
- 2019 sales stood at 30911 units –> ~7% market share –
- In Germany, Tesla posted a YOY growth of ~432% –> ~10k units
The reduction of EV tax incentives from Jan 2020, is definitely a huge factor in December, influencing buying decisions. It would be interesting to watch the sales of Tesla in the coming months, though there is a high probability that it would see a decline!
With the new EU regulations, pushing automakers to drop average CO2 emissions to 95g/km, automakers will find ways to grow EV and Hybrid car sales in 2020 to avoid huge fines.
Here are the sales figures in charts!
